Attorney mag. Sebastjan Kerčmar, LL.M., attended the 28th Conference “Business Entities in the Market” on May 18th and 19th, 2023. This conference is a well-established event that has been held annually since 1993 and is regarded as the largest and most recognized conference on commercial law in Slovenia. It is organized under the auspices of the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. As usual, the conference featured a highly relevant and high-quality program with top-notch speakers. The main theme of the conference was the role of business entities in the digital age, with a particular focus on the digitalization of court proceedings in civil matters. The conference agenda covered various sections and roundtable discussions, where participants were informed about the most current issues in commercial law, including company law, commercial contract law, tax law, competition law, labor law, property law, insolvency law, enforcement law, and European commercial law. Experts from academia, judiciary, government officials, attorneys, notaries, and business sector presented their arguments and engaged in discussions on legal matters, both from a descriptive and normative perspective. The proposed solutions often serve as valuable guidance for legislators, business practices, and the judiciary.
